GREETINGS FROM THE LAND OF KIMCHI!

i know i have not been blogging, its just been crazy for the past week. Moving in, buying things, getting used to the transportation and food here. so far i love everything here, the weather, the food......not crazy about having no bins at every corner and how we have to arrange our trash according to recycle-bles & food trash & paper trash. and how small the clothes are. their free size is like XS! how am i suppose to buy?

absolutely love their shoes, if im brave enough to wear them, everything is cheaper than singapore except for transport and food. I want to eat prawn mee, carrot cake, fish noodles and the ayam pegyet at novena square. i miss my collegues, friends and family!

me and fei mao has been meeting up often, im glad she is here so that we can go around and travel together. intending to go busan this weekend for the seafood festival, cant wait for that.

korean classes has been crazy so far, took a placement test and was placed in intermediate I. the standard is so different compared to singapore. It like primary school in singapore and junior college in korea. its new grammar which i sometimes dont get it often. luckily i have made some korean friends and my classmates are also happy to help me.

finished the last ep of zettai kareshi......as usual, i cried a river of tears. my tap was at its maximum power. the show was so funny at the same time, the actions of night-kun, really made me laugh.

then i found out i failed a module by 2 marks.....probably my fault for not trying hard enough. means i gotta re-module it and pay another $1500....darn it!

met lorraine for some shopping for korea. im now a proud new owner of 4 long-sleeved tees. its a big deal for me because i always think those who wear long sleeves in this sort of weather must be nutz(jackets not included). and i bought a nice overcoat too. all at GSS price......i just need more jeans and t-shirts. not to blow my trumpet here, it either im losing weight or my jeans has been expanding....no matter how tight my belt is, i always have to pull them up.

i dun kw whether im too domineering or too sensitive. but this person at work has been pissing the socks off me. i just dont understand why there are such vain and selfish person. not to mention this person is the most BABO/BAKA person i ever seen. i even had to demo how to do a "back-up" for the system. i really dun like this person and hopes that this person either gets send to other places or resign herself. but i kinda like my current job, even though its busy, but at least i get to do other things like coodination and stuff.....something very new for me...hope i get the hand of it

will meet ina on mon for somemore shopping before GSS ends, then its just losing that "puppy fat" and im ready to be on my way to kimchi land.....

i went to my most hated place in singapore...see whether u can guess where.

its sentosa! i actually went there to accompany my artist because she was alone here. if not all of u should know that i avoid going there as if theres a plague, i have this acute dislike for the sun+tanning.

surprising, apart of the blazing weather, it was really fun! we went to underwater world and dolphin lagoon. i havent been there since i was little. its really cheap for singaporeans too, i paid $13 just to enter underwater world and dolphin lagoon while my artist had to pay the full price($20). but everything there is 5x mark-up pricing, for a simple lime ice-cream which cost 60cents from the shop downstairs, cost $1.70. mineral water was "cheap" at $2. but i think i might go back there to play again. i'll just bring my trusty umbrella and sunblock.

i will finish work in esplanade by the end of the mth which means no jobs until sep for me. to spend the next 3 mths earning $$ for korea, i embarked on a frenzied search for part time jobs. thanks to jobstreet.com, i uploaded my resume and sent hundreds of emails to companies. all that i have to do now is to choose the company which offers the most pay. due to rising costs for my trip, i also have no choice but to "raise" my pay expectations. after all, they are getting the most hardworking person(me) in singapore, im even willing to work weekends! you cant find anyone better than me. (sorry for the self-ad, im that desperate...hehe)

i recently joined this online journal committee where i can write journals in other languages then native speakers will help edit and teach me my mistakes, in return, i edit their english grammar. its really a great place to meet new people online. i managed to make friends with japanese and korean people(due to my horrible grammar) and we even skype as often as possible. did i mentioned how "hot" koreans speak korean? its like a musical tune. im having trouble with japanese because they use a lot of kanji(which im not proficient in). i end up just guessing the meaning from the chinese words or looking it up online.

i have 2x 2000 worded essays to be completed by next wed. and darn me for not starting it as soon as possible, i always manage to find things to do(like writing this now). im so gonna regret this. i'll write more when its possible.

watched ironman with gom, it was really nice! i hope ironman 2 comes out soon. im hooked onto this new j-drama, called zettai kareshi. but i have no idea whether will have time to watch cuz i always have to work. i really dont want to work, but no choice.

the girls and i were planning to go jeju-do before we move into the dorm. i was hoping that we can avoid taking the subway cuz the subways there have very little escalators and lifts. carrying 30kg worth of luggage up and down the stairs is NO joke. its a little troublesome nowadays, i gotta buy a nice outer coat, if anyone sees any, let me know.

school term starts on wed and its all morning classes again!

started korean 5. having fun in the class, but i realised i have a lot of basics to cover. so borrowed the 1st textbook from abby. i find that nowadays im a bit losing interest in japanese, i study for so long and still cant remember grammer and vocab....IM LOUSY

i think im in the wrong course. but i think gom suffers more than me. hers is filled with sleepless nites. no wonder she hibernates only during holidays. LOL

i was doing research on celebs and media for an assignment when i stumbled upon old live aid concerts. the one where they held performances to raise funds for poverty.

the one that really got me hooked were the 1985 performances. i think its probably because the music scene was at its peak. there were no such things as synthesizers(i think) or computers that make your voice sound great. which leads me to question the current "crap" we hear on mtv nowadays. its quite disappointing to listen to a record and go "yeah, xxx sounds nice" and see them lip-syncing or find out their real voice actually differs a lot from the records.

maybe technology doesn't really bring out the best in people. i cant imagine what its like without a cellphone or laptop last time. and people had to rely on their raw talent to create anything.

we have photoshop to enhance pictures, audio programs that can make u sound like a top-rate singer, special effects in movies that are so real that we cant tell the difference. it scares me sometimes because the old school techniques are kinda lost somewhere. the one where you cant cheat because there were no such technology to help you.

i'm sounding really bleak here. the result of writing 2000 word essays. im trying to get back my "engrish" roots here. considering that we didn't write essays at all in polytechnic.

i applied to go korea to study in september, hope that goes well.

The drummer, Gilson Lavis is sooooo cool! he looks like christopher lee(from lord of the rings). he did a 5 min drum solo....i have nv seen anything like that...nothing tops this

he gave me the drum sticks he used to the do the drum solo! i will treasure it FOREVER!

been a great 2 weeks of working in a place @ city hall and over the CNY & chingay period, i saw plenty of fireworks which doesnt really fill me with awe anymore and i saw this

the f1 car making its preview during the chingay parade....but it was a packed 2 days for chingay....i could barely make my way around the area....everyone just stopped and watched...

celebrated my 22nd with gom, xiong ge & silvia over a game of mahjong...and they surprised me with a mango cake! Thanks guys

on the other hand....i took this pic of ina's favourite pair of working heels....i think they r auntish heels....but ina swears by how comfy it is....

jane, tweety and jasmine is back in aussie....cassie gonna go over on the 28th....on a brighter note...tweety will be back in 6 months for attachment...but considering she always falls off the radar...we'll will probably kw she is back when she pops back from wherever she disappeared to...meeting on tue again with the rest to bid adieu to cassie...

went to lunch with wendy today at RH....quite disappointed with the food....the appetizer and desserts were great as usual but the main course sucks...the beef was too well done that i was pretty certain my jaw broke from chewing too much....

then the hairstylist i usually go to only could schedule me at 6pm....so from 1 to 6pm...it was shopping time! spent a lot today as usual...i have to work extra hard to get the money back

those meeting me on monday....i think i'll probably have a surprise for u guys...cant wait for that....and we have to eat double quick cuz got no neoprint machine in suntec....y are we taking neoprints everytime we meet up? its like so sec sch days....so weird....HAHA

sun nite and mon is dedicated to clearing my room....jeezzz...i just realised that i have a lot of stuff and i need to use all of my books every week...where got space? and the fan facing my comp is SPOILED! of all the times it has to spoil before CNY.....my parents probably wont give a damn and leave me suck perspiring over the comp...

just when i was waiting for the price of the camera i wanted to drop. Sony had to upgrade the model....now the price is back to square one....i realised everything is getting expensive in spore....food,clothes, u name it....i went toa payoh and saw this top i liked....it was like 43 bucks...and in a neighbourhood shop....ERP prices are going up, taxi prices going up....y isnt anything getting cheaper?

the funny thing is they increase the prices then report in the papers that so and so company profit doubles 2-fold....CHARGE us so high of course profit increase lah....stupid ppl.....

went to linkin park concert just for fun. went with crystal and taiyi(her bf). bought $150 standing tixs, queued at 1pm and ran for my life and manage to stand at the 2nd row. they let us in at 7pm and the concert started at 9pm....tats probably the most pissed off part of the evening. but....

the concert was a blast! if only i had bought my camera! but i had to make do with my phone which has no optical zoom...most of it is mike shinoda cuz he was right in front of me most of the time...i'll let the pictures do the talking...

met ina and mel for a bit of shopping at far east....ina bought a cardigan + 3 dresses and mel bought a cardigan + 1 bag and for myself a bag too...it was so good to see them cuz everyones' meeting up lesser than usual

i am not acting cute but the ponytails are courtesy from melissa...cuz ina took so long to try and decide on her clothes so we had to find something to entertain ourselves. since i was admiring mel's braid....she decided to do one for me too....hehe but my hair was too short so ended up with 2 braids(thanks mel)...meet up next week

SMA totally sucks! i applied for the referencing workshop that is commencing this sat and sun. I faxed the damn form once i got it because it says 1st come 1st served

the thing that made me fucking pissed off is they sent a message the day before the workshop to tell me my place is confirmed...and i thought i didnt get a place cuz it was too popular....it was too difficult for them to email or call me once they got my fax?

then now wat? expect me to drop everything to go for the workshop....i wanted to go for the workshop cuz i find uni assignment damn difficult to do referencing and correct biblography....i have to work on sat and sun and cant be cxlled...if i cancel...i think sure fired.

IM SO ANGRY! just called them to give them a piece of my mind but im still ANGRY because they tell me only 15ppl signed up...ARGH! damn shit!

i stumbled upon this while watching "infinity challenge"...its a korean gameshow whereby 6 guys do all sorts of funny stuff....here are some that i think is a must watch! henry is so cute...even kw he doesnt kw the lang but he makes an effort to play along too

1) henry has to choose one of the 6 goal scoring style and promises to do the best one the next time he scores

went with mary for a well deserved shopping break...she bought this pvc-like jeans at topshop for 100 plus bucks...her reason was that she has to use up her gift vhcrs....like tat where got $$ to go perth? saw loads of clothes i want to get...but still too fat now...

i really dun understand how ppl can be so selfish and cheapskate sometimes...Person R wanted to ask me to help Person A to move stuff over to R's hse....and was thinking of getting me to come just to watch over the lorry cuz apparently...they lost some boxes while moving last time....im like thinking...R has 2 children who are as big as me....so y must i come and help while the 2 children just do nothing....is just so darn bloody cheapskate lor....im free labour while the other 2 are royalty? wat the fuck? i seriously dun mind helping cuz i love Person A a lot but still when i think about how R wants to take advantage of me....it just pisses me off....the world is just so unfair sometimes....

just opened a new UOB account(no more queueing @ DBS to withdraw cash!) and the bank ppl tried talking to me abt having those financial plan kinda stuff....while talking, im actually quite amazed that i didnt kw wat i want to work in....im more in the attitude of "can find wat then work wat lor"....and the guy at the bank was telling me that he searched for a job 6mths before graduation so all he needed was a letter frm the sch saying he had finished his modules....tats like superb planning.....but i guess networking is extremely impt and i dun have much network to source from...tats a bummer i guess...

its always hot during the nites now and i dun have the luxury of having an air-con....when will it ever snow here? on a brighter note...jane is coming back in 7 weeks...cant wait for tat

i must buy a DAB radio....spore actually has digital radio stations and 1 of them plays kpop & jpop 24 hrs! OMG! it was out ever since 1999 and only now did i know....my itunes playlist is limited so tats y i actually prefer the radio...check it out online...they have other stations too

but now shes always busy with her work and i dun even get ok, ic and oooooo in 1 conversation at all....i kw i shouldnt be grumpy here....but im even talking to myself cuz gom is nt ard for me to share news that i think is exciting....i nv cherish enough the time we yakked online before N** started....and she always reply to my stupid qns...HAHA....but its ok now...i hope she can be top of her class, get a high-paying job, buy tat condo in orchard so i can sleepover at her place. and she also promised to invite me to the all-important showcase she needs to do end of the yr... so thank u gom for always listening to my crap

my grp left after 2 weeks of fun with them....i really enjoyed myself so much....i promised one of the guys i will learn korean properly and he will learn eng too...me + 8 guys....can u imagine how much i was in heaven...HAHA....i miss my oppa...i liked him at first cuz he got six-pack and when i touch it, he so paiseh and cute.....but i really super like him cuz hes nice to me....but he got gf le...so sad!

i remember i loved the boys when i was at primary 5....i was a crazy fan...i could probably sing all the songs on their 2nd and 3rd album without looking at the lyrics...my regret is that i didnt go to see their concert when they were in spore....tats probably the last time they came here...im so upset...but check out their new song...its pretty nice

read this long long ago book frm sec school...called diary of a teenage boy...the catch is its all in CHINESE....i read it out loud cuz mary was reading my 8days...just wanted to irritate her....i think i and mary became closer to one another ever since jas left for a land far away...hope it doesnt stop

last test for bridging module is today...if i pass it...then it hello sch for me...i only need to go school for 2 days a week + 2 days of enrichment class....so still can earn some $$....

gom been schooling a lot and she sleeps way way early(her classes are @ 9am)...how i wish she could stay longer sometimes to talk crap...see la...wat will i do without u....she has to do a lot of sketching and i offered to be her model cuz im easy to draw(just draw a circle)....

my grp is arriving on mon...cant wait for it cuz can use the time while waiting for them to do some jap/korean hw....its getting lousier....

just met gabrielle over the weekend....pretty great to see her...i guess it might mean im going to perth soon...lol

watched the holiday on dvd and i think jude law is just so damn hot....i so want to date an english man now....i've fallen in love with their accent and of course JUDE LAW! ok....i sound a bit psychotic at this moment

yakked with ina online...will be meeting her for some shopping therapy after her exams....so looking forward to that...and will be working a lot lesser now....since im starting school and all...lesser income for me too

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I've finshed reading the new harry potter book in a record time of 6 hrs and 3min...HAHA! the book is soooo damn good....get it asap, its worth the 53 bucks price tag......the ending was ermmmm half un-expected and expected ending....so sad that theres no more harry potter book for me to read! waiting for this book called "the tunnel"....

nothing much going on with my life, im studying my bridging modules and officially starting school on sep 3! took my aplitude test for korean and i really think i suck at it......i had to romanized half of the passage and i didnt manage to do the last qns which was to write an essay in korean about your travels.....the teacher is supposed to contact me next week for an oral test so wish me luck.

its also been a long journey for my jap! another 10 weeks and 7 lessons more to my JLPT3! to think its been a 2 year long journey.....although there were times where words went in 1 ear and out the other.......i will work hard to memorize my vocab and revised my pathetic grammar....gom should be preparing for her jlpt 4 too....gd luck for that

a lot of ppl have gone for NS alrdy.....adrian, chinwee, francis, yx......so sad....well meet up when free ok....and adrian > i'll definitely slim down when u are out of army...lol

Mary is leaving on tue to korea for a 6-week exchange program. i went to Equinox to eat with jie ying and jun wei cuz JY says she wants to eat there. We spent a whopping 300 bucks but after JY staff disc(thanks!) it was ard 50 bucks each. but it was so worth it.....i want to eat the miso cod again! any takers? no pictures though cuz the lighting in the restaurant too romantic. and to my horror, NEO JUN WEI thot i was a lesbian cuz im still unattached and so old......haiiizzz....sad manz....all i can say is men in singapore dun kw how to appreciate me....LOL, just comforting myself

after working for quite long in a prominent hotel ard city hall. I realised i really hate being a singaporean. or should i say im embarrassed to be 1 sometimes. no offense but sometimes i cringe when i eat at buffet restaurants and see how ugly singaporeans can be. for example during work

guest: hah? cant squeeze another 2 more meh?
me: *thinking* then whats the point of me telling u its fully booked?

me: $45+++
guest: what sort of credit card disc?

now you see my point? that why i always make it a point to be nice to service staff cuz i understand their situation. i really think everyone in spore should work as a service staff for a few months in their life, consider it as national service, then maybe everyone can start thinking for others and not selfishly for themselves. Im also someone who likes discounts, but i wont purposely insist on a discount correct?

i just stumbled upon chubbyhubby's blog, supposed to be the best foodie blog in spore....some comments he made were really funny! he said that in al-fresco restaurants, its always the Caucasians happily sweating over their food outdoors while asians are always inside where the air-con is. LOL......i agree its weird y we have seats al-fresco when the temperature in spore is almost always 30 plus degrees....

will be hitting the gym with nat-tong end of june so wish me luck.....and i so gotta step in MOS & st james for once in my life......i havent gone to either places at all lor!

Performance at forecourt

This is the group i took care of while they were in spore. Their grp name is Noridan and they hail frm the land of kimchi. they are something like our YMCA. they have this really cool car called the Sprocket & they cycle it just like a bicycle. their music is something like STOMP.

Super cute! but alas, she only speaks korean. when i asked her to say how old she was in english. she took so long to think until one of us hinted to her. SO adorable!

shes just so cute. when she was tired and had to go bk to the hotel to rest. she ran to me to say that she'll write a letter to me. AW! is like a kid sister i always wanted to have. I met a cutie in the grp, but just too bad he is younger than me. lazy to post pic but its in my frenster. my fren took care of a korean grp and everyone of them are damn cute! they are dancers and 1 of them models in korea. just imagine how hunky he is. but too bad...cuz both of us too poor to afford a camera, we didnt take any photos with them. i did take photos with my grp but not my camera, so maybe when they send it to me later on, i will post them. i want to email my grp but they either understand korean or japanese. haiiiz! worse case senerio is i just email all in english then they get someone to interpret to them lor
